A must for your car!
This handy book allows the traveler to look up the California State Historical marker number and read all about the markers one passes on the road. If you don't have time to stop, you can read about what you missed. If you want to plan a trip to an area and visit the historical landmarks in a certain region (like the Gold Country), this book is an excellent resource.

California Parks Access: A Complete Guide to the State and National Parks for Visitors With Limited Mobility
Published in Paperback by Cougar Pass Pub Co (April, 1992)
Authors: Linda Mitchell and Allen Mitchell
Average review score:

A must-have guide to read ahead and take with you.
I never realized how much (and how little) our state parks have to offer those of us who have mobility limitations. The Mitchell's have taken the time to visit every park in their book - and it shows. I was especially impressed with the detailed descriptions of trails and points of interest. Now I have a very good idea of whether I will be able to enjoy each park. Most importantly, I know which parks I do not want to miss. Thanks for your efforts and awareness of the needs of wheelchair users and others with limitations.

Call of the Wild: The Art of Parks Reece
Published in Hardcover by Riverbend Publishing (01 October, 2002)
Authors: Parks Reece, Tim Cahill, Scott McMillion, and Greg Keeler
Average review score:

Highly recommended and uniquely memorable
Call Of The Wild: The Art Of Parks Reece is a most remarkable, 124-page showcase of the warm and often whimsical colored artwork of Parks Reece. Centered around the double themes of nature and wry commentaries or puns, Reece's paintings include "Hazards of Hunting" featuring a racoon using deer antlers to string its bow targeting an orange-vested hunter; "The One Who Learned the Words" representing a particularly exceptional hummingbird among hummingbirds; "Alien Abduction" showing a fish's point of view at being plucked out of the water, and much, much more. Highly recommended and uniquely memorable, Call Of The Wild is enhanced with essays by Tim Cahill and sonnets by Greg Keeler.

Camp the U.S. for $5.00 or Less: Western and Midwestern States

I loved this series!
In 1995, a friend and I threw a tent in the back of my car, and armed with the Eastern States volume, started a four and a half month camping trip. Camp the US was such an invaluable resource that we searched the state of Arizona for the Western & Midwestern states. I only hope these books return to print!

The Campgrounds of New York: A Guide to the State Parks and Public Campgrounds

BUY THIS BOOK. IT IS THE BIBLE OF NYS CAMPING!!
This is truly a must have for anyone who camps in New York State. I am writing this review after purchasing my 4th copy. I have had 2 copies of my own, one of which a family member made off with, and I have bought 2 as gifts. It is the one thing we are never without from planning a trip to sitting at the campsite. We use the individual campground maps to choose our favorite sites and we use the tons of empty page space to make notes about the different campgrounds. We always have it in the car, even when we're not camping, so that if we ever pass a campground we can go through and make notes of some nice sites for planning future camping trips.

This is not a "wordy" book... it is simply maps and contact information for campsites - but the maps include all campsites, fishing, swimming, restrooms, etc etc. If you want a book that does some real chatting about the campgrounds or the region, this is NOT the book for you. However, if you want a book that clearly and accurately shows you the layout of any campground in the state before you blindly reserve a site, then buy this book.
I sit down, go to reserveamerica.com, open my Campgrounds of NY book - and choose the best site for my camping trip. The guesswork is gone, and I have had nothing but good luck if I trusted my book. I'm sure a lot of work went into putting this book together in such a clear and helpful way - and it paid off!

I love it!

GREAT DETAIL - A MUST HAVE CAMPER'S BOOK
I was VERY impressed with the details of so many campgrounds in Arizona. I did not expect the book to be so detailed.

Camping Colorado (FalconGuide)

An honest, informative guide
I loved this guide book for it's "real" descriptions of campgrounds. It gives more than just basic descriptions of how many sites, amenities, etc. The details include what kind of crowd is likely to be found, how noisy, how well apart the sites are, how crowded etc. Highly reccommended! I'm picking up the Falcon Guide to camping in Wahsington for my vacation.

Camping on the Internet

Author: Loren Eyrich

Camping on the Internet
There is no more concise summary and guidebook for the internet user...on the road in an RV or off the road at home. It is extremely clear, well-organized and a "quick learn" for those who want to try out further exporation of the internet. In its relatively small format it explains everything from types of computers, hardware, software, terminology, to those mysterious "letters" related to computing we wonder about. Camping On the Internet by Eyrich is an absolute must for those who are full-timers in their RVs. Whether you just want to learn from scratch or whether you want to build your own website for pleasure or business, this is THE book. The author, Loren Eyrich, has spent many years traveling in an RV and publishing a small newspaper "on the road", using his computer. This is a user-friendly book. As a fairly competent computer user, I found it wonderfully refreshing and highly useful; it also helped me build my own web site.
